INFORMATION SESSION
BAP NGO

The training course “Empowerment against Discrimination” (Action 4.3, Youth in Action), will be held in Curte de Arges- Poenari in Romania and will take place from Sunday 31 July until Sunday 7 August 2011. The training course is organized by the host institution – Association for Intercultural Dialogue (APDI) in collaboration with its partners The Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sports, Romanian National Commission for UNESCO and Romanian Institute for Human Rights. There will be 25 participants from promontories countries: Lithuania, Spain, Hungary, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Turkey and Romania. The partner associations include : Association for Intercultural Dialogue, Romania; Pl "Skuodo versli karta", Lithuania; Asociación Cultural Mar De Niebla, Spain; Foundation of Andy Endre G.S., Romania; BAP NGO, Bulgaria; NOMAD-Association for the promotion of culture and art, Croatia; Cultura Africa, Czech Republic; Afyonkarahisar Provinvcial National EducationDirectorate, Turkey.

BAP NGO is selected as a partner organization to the project “Empowerment against discrimination”. On Wednesday 20 July BAP NGO held an information session before the start of  the training.

We have carefully selected our representative participants in the training course – these are young people committed to personal development, looking for inspiration to shape their active civic engagement. Each of the participants has experience with topics related to discrimination and can give his/her contribution to the project.

We started the discussion with thorough discussion of the program for the project. The objectives of the training are:
  1. To develop the capacity of participants to use non-formal methods and human rights education for   personal development of the young from discriminated  groups;
  2. To  acquire knowledge in order to sustain an advertising campaign against discrimination, to enhance tolerance and respect for cultural diversity;
  3. To promote volunteerisms a necessary action to achieved activities with young discriminated people.

The discussion continued with day-by-day analysis of the program. We talked over NGO Fair and prepared for the Bulgarian night. All of the participants in the  training  shared their opinion over discrimination matters, that have grasped recently their attention. A list of topics related to and close to discrimination has been prepared, over which BAP NGO members can share experience and talk during the training course “Empowerment against discrimination”

 After the end of the training course, BAP NGO is planning to launch its “Awareness Rising Campaign” in order to alarm the public about the importance of the tolerance. BAP NGO believes rising awareness is fundamental in order to achieve a world with less discrimination.
The meeting went on with the discussion of transportation matters. The three participants in the training will depart on Saturday 30th  of July by train and will return on Sunday 7th of August by bus. A confirmation about all the details about the transport has been received.
